THE LONGEST STORY
today i made porridge for the first time, for the Dunnie since he's dying. lamb & cheese porridge. haha yeah i know, it didnt occur to me until i was putting the meat, which was actually rissoles, in. thanks.

part of our personality structure arises from a conflict between the id, ego and superego.
the id is unconscious energy that strives to satisfy basic sexual and aggressive drives. it operates on the pleasure principal and demands immediate gratification, which is bad.
the ego is the conscious excutive part of personality that mediates the impulsive demands of the id, restraining demands of the superego and the real life demands of the external world. the ego operates on the reality principal, satisfying the id's desires in a way that will realistically bring pleasure than pain.(imagine, if we lack an ego,and we express our restrained sexual or aggressive impulses whenever we feel like it. HAHA thats funny)
and then we have the superego, which represents internalized ideals and provides standards for judgements and future aspirations. it is a voice of conscience & focuses solelyon how one ought to behave. it strives for perfection and its demands oppose the id's.
so yeah, this explains our actions. one's bad, one's sane and the other's too good. however, the id is in the unconscious region of our mind, so we are usually ;argely unaware of it.
